What is the Center for Media Literacy?
The Center for Media Literacy (CML) seeks to help people develop critical thinking skills towards the consumption and the production of media, particularly for determining what messages are being explicitly or implicitly conveyed. These analysis skills apply generally to all forms of media and mediums, including books, magazines, music, video, television, radio, the Internet, and so on.
The CML produces resources, some free and some for sale, to promote and aid in media literacy education in schools, homes, faith communities, and public health research. 1 Many of the CML's resources are integrated together in the CML MediaLit Kit which outlines the CML's education framework and provides activities built on that framework. 2
