What is the Professor Garfield Foundation?

The Professor Garfield Foundation is part of an educational initiative targeted at children.The Professor Garfield site offers clean, fun, educational games for kids in addition to articles filled with information about Internet safety. The educational games on the site are specifically created for children with learning disabilities and attention disorders, although nothing on the site proclaims that, and children of all learning abilities and backgrounds will enjoy the site. 1

According to JoAnn Gora, the president of the university affiliated with Professor Garfield:
"The mission of the nonprofit Professor Garfield Foundation is to raise the bar for creative learning in an interactive environment for children in kindergarten through eighth grades." 2

The Professor Garfield site won the Children's Technology Review Editor's Choice Award in 2008. In that same year, the site was also honored with the W3 Silver Award for Best Animation.
