In 2003, PCMag editors gave this product a "very good" rating (4 out of 5).They liked that the SpySweeper feature warned you that removing adware could disable ad-supported software. They also noted taht the program detected all spyware on the test systems, however the program didn't detect keyloggers and missed a trojan.
PCWorld
In 2009, PCWorld reviewer, Jon L. Jacobi, gave this product a favorable review. He liked that it didn't interfere with browsing and detected more cookies and spyware than he expected.
