What is StaySafeOnline?

StaySafeOnline.org is a website run by the National Cyber Security Alliance. Their goal is to create an empowered digital society. The site offers advice for all types of internet users including home, classroom (this includes K-12 as well as higher education resources), and business cyber security. 1

The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) mission's statement is: "to educate and therefore empower a digital society to use the Internet safely and securely at home, work, and school, protecting the technology individuals’ use, the networks they connect to, and our shared digital assets." 2

Classroom Resources

NCSA focuses their classroom resources on three areas: cybersecurity, cybersafety, and cyberethics.They offer teaching materials, studies conducted on education, and lessons for students. One of their latest teaching resources features free cyberbullying prevention lessons that were created in partnership with CyberSmart!. 3

NCSA also runs C-SAVE, a Cyber Security Awareness Volunteer Education Program. Volunteers do not need to officially register or sign up to join C-SAVE. The resources and support materials for volunteers are available online.4

National Cybersecurity Awareness Month

One of the National Cyber Security Alliance (NSCA)'s programs is National Cybersecurity Awareness month. NCSA has been doing this for seven years to publicize security messages and information. 5
